I'm having difficulty with something here. In the Dem Primaries. Why doesn't it become winner take all.

I do not like the state-based winner take all nature of the general election and think that the general election should be won or lost based on popular votes. Since this is not the case, the Democrats are self-destructive to have a fundamentally different primary system - one that prorates the primary results. Primary processes should be designed to lead to success in the general election. Why don't they? Some have said that it is the "let's all hold hands together" and "there are no real losers" mentality of the party. Regardless of the reasons that the Dems do this - it continues to help the Republicans win in the general elections. Democratic primaries are longer, more expensive and history shows that they do not lead to winning candidates.
