What is with overpriced collectibles on Ebay? What do you think?

I am a buyer and a occasional seller on Ebay. I have noticed that some sellers are overcharging on some items. Especially collectible items. For instance, there was a auction for a bucket of play slim from the 1970's. You know, that slim stuff you could squeeze betwen your fingers and it would stick to carpets and stuff. This person wanted $279.00 for that. That is ridiculous! With that much money I could buy several little things instead. Who would actually pay that much money for some old slime? I love buying vintage stuff, but I should not have to take out a second mortgage to do it. I understand everyone wants profit, but gee whiz! What do you think?
