Can someone help me understand?

Why do so many people reject a paranormal stories, Without hearing all the facts pertainting to that story.... Like the story about the bigfoot, The vampire, Or the werewolf or something as simple as a mermaid....... Now I am not here to convince anyone as to what the true really is.... But lets start with the mermaid.... Now I have been doing research on all the above creatures for at least 10 years... I have read stories and I have taken trips to many Europeans and Asian and into the Middle East and here in America... I won't get into naming all of the countries I have visted.. But lets just say I have visted the majority of them..... I have gone to Norway and Germany and the Nordic countries, And Spain, Poland Romania to vist Dracular's Castle. Etc............ In some of these European and Asian countries I have spent a month or more on several deep sea fishing trips....Now many of these Europeans and Asians fishermen have Claimed to have captured a mermaid or mermen in in their
