Atheists: Do you find the fact a devout Christian thought up much of the Big Bang theory makes it suspicious?

I know ad hominem is a fallacy, however, as a Christian, one reason i doubt the Big Bang theory is true is that it was thought up by a person who admitted that he just couldn't believe there was no creator, so he came up with a theory which he felt implied there was one. Does that not make you rather dubious? I realise the cosmic microwave background is fairly good evidence, but i think the cosmological constant is a complete kludge and i'm really dubious about non-baryonic dark matter because it just seems a bit convenient while not really being falsifiable. Why not believe in something like the Steady State theory instead?
